Quick tips for new IceBrekr Users :
- Accept all requested settings for the best experience.
- Add at least your Picture and Headline with something valuable or descriptive, but ideally go to Professional Profile and add what you want others to know. Or just use the LinkedIn sign-in!
- On the Discovery Screen, click on Filter Button icon and enter a couple Keywords that describe your ideal connection
- Turn On or Off IceBrekr Notifications in the app under Settings
In-person events enable us to see the other person’s “vibe” which is definitely an advantage in making the right connections!
Our Mission
Our goal is to be a utility that helps you to make the connections that matter most. Go where your “tribe” is… where you know there will be people you want to meet, and bring IceBrekr. We are a startup doing an initial launch to grow our user base and gather insight to make the app useful in more places. Let us know if you have any events/hosts you would like us to meet!

Our Approach
IceBrekr’s Discovery feature is a lot like “Airdrop” + “LinkedIn” and is meant to be used at events in public places, where you can validate the faces around you with the profile picture on your discovery screen. It is meant as a better version of a virtual name tag or virtual business card.
Choose the ‘always on’ location setting for IceBrekr. This is really just ‘on while IceBrekr App is running’ because once the app is shut down it ceases to connect. This is also how some of your other apps also stay working when your screen is off. IceBrekr does not keep your location and nearby discovery does not use GPS. You can go to Phone settings > app settings to make sure this is set to ‘always on’. Shutting down the app, versus just turning off the phone screen, will completely turn these features off.
Why It Matters and Key Features
This is valuable because as you walk into the networking environment you want to be engaging with others. If you have your connection Filters set and turned on and your phone in your pocket, it will notify you when your ideal contact is nearby. Then you can look at your phone and see who this person is, see their profile description that included your keyword(s), and their profile picture so that you can go make the introduction…or send them an IceBrekr message as the circumstances require. Turn the Filter on/off via the icon located on the top of the screen next to the Search bar. Either tap to open or long press to just enable. See video:

If you are getting too many ‘newly discovered user’ alerts your best move is to go to Settings and choose the option to only get notified on Filter Results only.
As you decide what you share about yourself you can use Profile Visibility controls at the top of the Edit Profile screens, and the Green toggle buttons next to each data entry field to show or hide any part of your profile. Share (using the show or hide toggle options) up to 6 weblinks each on your personal or professional profile; share social media profiles or LinkedIn profile, resume, webpage, Telegram URL, etc.
IceBrekr has been designed to facilitate connection, and allows the users to decide which social media or communication platform they want to continue the new relationship on.
Virtual Mode will enable more ease of networking while in an online virtual event such as Zoom or Google Meet. We are also in process of improving features, workflows and performance. So stay tuned!
